Iris Anne Miller
1949 – 2026
With heavy hearts, the family of Iris Miller announce her passing on April 20, 2026, at the age of 76. Iris is lovingly remembered by her children: Carol (Dallas) Baxter and their daughter, Delaney; Angela Turner and her son, Jan Turner-Dolan. Her siblings: Connie (Ernie) Westbury, their children Chistine (Sean) Atkinson and Dean (Lucero); Ken (Pat) Kasserman and their children Kris (Nikki) and Jessica (Kody) Davidson; Dave (Wanda) Kasserman and daughters Amanda (Jeremy) and Sara (Francesca). As well as her great nieces and nephews: Ewan and Chloe (Atkinson), Tucker and Paisley (Davidson). She will be deeply missed. Rest in peace.
She was predeceased by her father, Fred Kasserman (December 1984), her mother Edna (nee Flear) Kasserman (May 2020) and her beloved husband Toby Miller (September 2015).
Iris was born in Milden, SK, on June 17, 1949. Growing up and attending school in Conquest and high school in Outlook. In January 1968, she started her Certified Nursing Assistant training at Kelsey, doing her practicum at Weyburn Union Hospital. Iris married Earl Turner in February 1970 and they lived in Saskatoon until March 1973. Earl worked as a machinist and she worked as a scrub nurse in the ER at City Hospital. After moving to Wiseton, Carol was born in March 1974 during several major snowstorms. Angie was born the next spring, April 1975. The family moved to the farm in their new home in December 1978. In June 1980, Iris returned to nursing part-time at the Dinsmore Health Care Centre, working there until 1994. Iris went back to work in 1996, spending the next 10 years at the Dinsmore Credit Union. She married Toby Miller in May 2006. They spent their time between their home in Dinsmore and their home in Oregon, USA, until Toby’s passing on September 12, 2015. Iris returned to her home in Dinsmore, Saskatchewan and resided there until she passed.
Iris enjoyed participating in the annual Wiseton Ladies Bonspiel, working at Wiseton Bingos with Debbie Powell, working with many friends at the Dinsmore Manor, Credit Union and Seniors Center, playing cards and gatherings with friends and family.
A Come & Go Tea in memory of Iris will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Dinsmore Seniors Hall in Dinsmore, SK.
