Gregory Arthur Mireau

March 3, 1959 - April 16, 2026

With heavy hearts, the family of Gregory “Magoo” Mireau announce his passing after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Greg passed away peacefully at the Rosetown Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family.

Greg was born on March 3, 1959, in Milden, Saskatchewan, the first child of Laurent and Lucille Mireau. He grew up on the family farm south of Goose Lake and attended Harris-Tessier School, where his love for sports and community began. Hockey was one of Greg’s great passions, and he proudly played for many years with the Harris Flyers before finally hanging up his skates. He was equally devoted to fastball, serving as the back catcher for the Harris Imperials and was known for rarely missing a game.

In his younger years, Greg drove truck for Orchard Transport, hauling throughout Western Canada and the northern United States. In 1987, he returned to his roots, joining his brother Dan and Uncle Cy on the family farm. After 12 years, Greg sold his shares and went on to start his own business, Greg’s Gravel. Over the years, he also worked for Bro Winny, Brent Genest, and the RM of Harris.

In 2019, Greg began a new chapter working for the Department of Highways out of Rosetown. He took great pride in his work and was dedicated to keeping Saskatchewan roads safe. Community mattered deeply to Greg—he was a longtime member of the Harris-Tessier Lions Club until moving to Rosetown in 2011.

Greg will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Nikki (Daulton), grandson Beaumont (“Mini Magoo”), and his partner and love of his life, Kathryn. He also leaves behind Kathryn’s children: Tyler (Sherry), Ben (Lindsay) and Jillian and four more grandchildren. He is survived by his stepmother RoseAnn; mother-in-law Joan; siblings Dan (Suzette), Claude (Annette), Jacquie (Don), Leo (Krista), and Paulette (Tim), Wendy (Carl), Ward (Judy), Donna (Kevin), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and many close family friends.

He was predeceased by his parents Laurent and Lucille, his niece Stephanie, and his beloved Auntie Marie.

A Funeral Mass for Greg was held at on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Theresa’s Parish in Rosetown, Saskatchewan, with Father Habila Musa officiating. Lunch followed at the Harris Community Centre. Interment will take place at a later date.
