Bill Crossman
November 14, 1927 - June 19, 2026
Bill Crossman, 98, of Rosetown, Saskatchewan passed away on June 19, 2026 with family by his side.
Bill was the oldest of five siblings born to Jim and Christine Crossman. Bill attended Newpark School, Rosetown High School, then he went farming.
Bill and Joyce were married in September 1950. He farmed as well as working for Snider Electric in the winter. Grant was born in 1952, Jim was born in 1954 and Mary Jean (MJ) was born in 1957. In 1958 the family moved to their home on W 30-30-14. With the help of many relatives a new home was built and a new farm with grain, pigs, ponies and cattle was built up. The new farm became “New Park Farms”. They moved to Rosetown in 1984. They remained farming until Joyce’s health was failing when he became her caregiver. He kept a beautiful yard and garden into his 90’s.
Bill was an active community member serving on church boards, Masonic order, councillor for the RM of St. Andrews for 16 years. He served coffee at the Villa when he was older than many of the residents . Bill curled for many years. Bill and Joyce enjoyed travelling to Scotland, and many places in the United States and Canada . Bill was a well known community member with many friends and always had time for a visit. They enjoyed spending time at Jackfish Lake at the cottage and later Mustostini and Greig Lake.
One of Bill's greatest joys in life were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He always had an ice cream or pop delivery to the field. Nothing made him happier than time with the kids.
Bill was a passionate farmer, community member, family man and his kindness will be missed by many.
Left to cherish his memory, he is survived by his son Jim (Shelley) and their children Katie (Trent) Aylward, Shayla, Audrey and Kassie; Will (Stacey), Brooks and Blaze. Daughter-in-law Bobbie, children Virginia (Bob) Nelson, Shaelynn and Dustin; Ian (Carla) Daman, Keagan (Erin), Carson (Carys), Teanna; Liza Peter; Raiden, Cruz, Avaya. Son-in-law Gerald Bodnarchuck, children Melissa (Jayson) Korall, Charlotte and Otis; Keith (Aarushi) Bodnarchuck, Kiyaan. Sister Marj Mann, sisters-in-law Betty Crossman, Jean Ryba Jean Wickett and Beth Hutcheon.
Bill was predeceased by wife Joyce, son Grant, daughter Mary Jean, brother Jack, sister Marion Major and brothers-in-law Wally Hutcheon, Jim (Laverne) Hutcheon, Don Wickett, Ted Mann, Dutch Ryba and Vic Major.
A Celebration of Life was held on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Rosetown United Church. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Shanidar Funeral Services.
