Stars go back to Unity

An win by the Unity Miners over the Dodsland Stars takes that Cross Roads Hockey League playoff semifinal series to a third game.
The Miners won 5-4 in overtime last Friday night in Kerrobert.
That evened the series after a 4-0 Stars win in Unity on Feb. 6.
The teams play again in Unity this Friday.
The winners play either the Rosetown Redwings or the Kindersley Kodiaks for the league championship.
The Miners led 2-1 after the first period and a scoreless second period.
Gavin Halter-Metcalf got two goals and Brandon Kelly and Troy Joyce got the other Stars goals. Brad Buckingham had three assists and Adam Bradley, two.
Hudson Bretzer got the winner at the 3:49 mark of the overtime period.
Mark Ganter, Brayden Schultz, Garin Scherr and Colby Ralston got the other Miners goals.
Conner Kidd made 43 saves in the Stars net.
At the other end, Ryan Rewerts stopped 53 shots.
Buckingham, Tyler McIntosh, Jaxon Walz and Boston Dipple did the scoring in Unity. T. J. Greschner and Foster Stephens each had two assists.
Kidd stopped all 28 shots he faced.
Noah Gumpinger made 27 saves for the Miners.
The Stars had lost their first-round senior D provincial playoff series to the Beechy-Lucky Lake Lakers.
The Stars won 6-3 in Lucky Lake on Jan. 24 but then lost 4-2 on the 30th and 5-2 on the 31st, both games being in Kerrobert.
The Lakers were to conclude their second-round series with the Shellbrook Elks in Lucky Lake this past weekend. The Elks won 5-3 in Shellbrook on Feb. 7.
