Adam Dyck has been named chair of Cereals Canada, succeeding Brett Halstead of Nokomis.

Halstead, who represented the Saskatchewan Wheat Development Commission, completed his final term on the Sask Wheat board in January. He chaired Cereals Canada for the past two years, during which he helped implement the organization's new strategic plan, according to a news release.

Adam Dyck.

As chair, Dyck will help lead the organization's work to strengthen Canada's position as a trusted supplier of high-quality wheat, durum, barley and oats, the release said.

Sask Wheat vice-chair Rob Stone of Davidson was named board secretary and will continue serving as a director. Emiley Saunders of Borden is one of four new directors appointed to the 15-member board.

The new and returning directors will help guide Cereals Canada's work in market development, customer engagement and innovation across the cereals sector, the organization said.

The board is made up of representatives from producer organizations and grain industry companies, with nearly equal representation from both groups.

"The cereals sector continues to operate in a rapidly evolving global environment, and strong leadership is essential to maintaining Canada's reputation as a preferred supplier of high-quality cereals," said Cereals Canada president Dean Dias.
