Students refine voices through Sun West motivational speaking workshop
Five students gathered in Rosetown on March 20 for a hands-on training session aimed at sharpening their public speaking skills.
The workshop, Drop the Mic: The Art and Science of Motivational Speaking, is part of the Sun West Creator Olympics.
Ahead of the session, each student prepared a 10-minute motivational speech focused on personal challenges and life lessons. Participants then received feedback and practical coaching on delivery, structure and message development.
The session was led by Chris Gray, who works across Canada and the United States delivering presentations to youth. His talks focus on building positive influence, overcoming obstacles and developing a “champion’s mentality.” Gray is also a professional wrestler and contributes to programming with TNA Wrestling.
Students will continue refining their speeches in preparation for Ignite: Storyteller Showcase, set for May 13 in Rosetown. The free public event is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., with the venue to be announced.
