Two Kinds of Stranger by Steve Cavanaugh (thriller)
As hurt, betrayed and unmoored as Elly Parker is after discovering her husband was having an affair with her best friend, she has made it her mission to help others in need. When Elly meets an injured man on the steps to the subway platform, she feels sorry for him. This small act of kindness sets off a chain of events more terrifying than anything she could have imagined.

The Hired Man by Sandra Dallas (historical fiction)
It has been seven years since the dust storms began in Colorado. High school student Martha Helen Kessler and her family still manage to eke out a living from the land. When Martha Helen’s mother insists they take in Otis Hobbs, a handsome drifter, she quickly discovers a darker side to their rural community. Emotions reach a frenzy when Martha Helen’s best friend, Frankie, disappears and is later found murdered.

Beneath by Ariel Sullivan (romance)
Sasha Cadell knows time is running out in the underground city filled with survivors of nuclear fallout six years ago. Her bleak existence is upended when Tristian Hayes, a handsome and determined commander of the Force, recruits her to join him and his elite team of soldiers on a secret mission to the surface. The fate of humankind depends on their success — or failure.

This Kingdom Will Not Kill Me by Ilona Andrews (fantasy)
When Maggie is transported into the world of her favourite fantasy series, her only tools for navigating the gritty setting are her knowledge of the plot, characters and their fates. Instead of trying to get home, she becomes entangled in the schemes of princes, dukes and villains, all while trying to save them and their kingdom from a cataclysmic war.

Kids, Wait Till You Hear This! by Liza Minnelli (non-fiction)
Liza Minnelli decided at age 16 that “sympathy is my mother’s business. I give people joy.” That joy, however, masks a lifelong struggle with substance abuse, broken marriages, anxiety and financial uncertainty, alongside extraordinary artistic success and deep friendships. Now nearing 80, Minnelli shares stories and personal reflections the public has never heard before.
