Sports This Week: Enough games for short season

The under-15 Angels softball team is getting enough games this season despite a tight schedule.
The Angels play in the Eagle Creek softball league alongside Dundurn and Outlook teams. They also have two exhibition games against Kindersley.
Head coach Lynden Paquette credited the league for the support.
"The league has been super helpful in making sure we have enough games for the girls as our season is short. We have a lot of ball ahead of us until the end of the season on June 18th," Paquette said.
The team travels to Dundurn this week for a doubleheader. They will also host Kindersley at sports day on June 13.
The roster includes Alicia Cressman, Andrea Kahovec, Brook Moreside, Emmy Herbert, Hayley Waldner, Jersie Lyric-Schmidt, Kensie Cowan and Sydney Dessert, all of Rosetown, along with Cailen McIntosh of Plenty, Etta Moore of Biggar and Maeva Dyrland of Kyle.
Taylor Long, Raelyn DeBusschere and Mackenzie Waldner assist Paquette with coaching. Kayla Herbert is the team manager.
The Angels will not enter provincial playoffs, but Andrea Kahovec will compete with a Kindersley team that has qualified.
Gymkhanas
The May 19 Just For Fun Gymkhana was cancelled due to muddy arena conditions and will not be rescheduled. The next events at the arena are the Saskatchewan Barrel Racing Association jackpot on June 17 and the J.F.F. Gymkhana on June 18.
