Summer reading challenges are almost here. Beginning July 1, children aged 0-12 can register for the TD Summer Reading Challenge through wheatland.beanstack.org, where they can log their reading minutes. Paper logs will also be available. Participants will automatically be entered into a weekly in-branch draw for a chance to win a prize bag that includes goodies and a free book.

Library users aged 13 and older can register for the Wheatland Reading Cup through the same website and complete activities and log reading minutes for a chance to win great prizes through Wheatland.

New titles at the library this week:

Tropesick by Lauren Okie (romance). Katie Caruso is a ghostwriter for Meredith Bradford, the bestselling romance novelist of all time. But then Tyler McNally walks back into Katie's life, and her fun-loving facade crumbles at her feet. Tyler was Katie's dead brother's best friend, but now he's her tattooed, grumpy writing partner for the summer. Stuck together in a secluded Hamptons estate, they soon discover that the dozens of classic romance tropes, including the ones they're crafting on the page, are mysteriously playing out in real life.

Road Trip by Mary Kay Andrews (adult fiction). Maeve and Therese Dunigan are sisters, but they've been estranged for years. When their mother's death brings them back together, the two find that they have inherited a painting that could be worth millions and save each of them from the wolves at their door. The only issue is whether it's real or fake, and the only way to prove that theirs is the real one is to make a road trip to Ireland where their family roots lie and where a mysterious crime occurred generations ago.

When You Loved Me by Beatriz Williams (historical fiction). When widowed Lucy Cooper returns to her family estate on Winthrop Island after her father's death, she discovers that the property is buried beneath a mountain of debt and her ex, Ben Ressler, turns up on her doorstep. On top of that, Lucy uncovers her father's research regarding buried pirate treasure beneath the estate. Just as Lucy's long-buried emotions rise to the surface, a shocking turn of events reveals that someone else on the island will do whatever it takes to claim the fabled plunder.

Man of My Dreams by Olivia Worley (thriller). Romance author Ivy Harcourt has been as unlucky in love as she's been successful in writing. She's nearly given up hope until she rescues an escaped dog in a park and runs into Liam. Charming and British, Liam's the exact description of the love interest in her next book. Ivy's convinced he's her dream man, except he may be too perfect. He may be hiding something. And Ivy has secrets of her own.

The Secrets We Hide by Karin Slaughter (mystery). When gunshots ring out, Sheriff Emmy Clifton and her sister, ex-federal agent Jude Archer, discover a devastating crime scene at 1601 Iris Drive. Allison Vickery has been murdered in her own kitchen, and her teenage daughter is bleeding out upstairs. Everyone thinks they know what happened. But secrets are buried everywhere in this small town.
