The Redwings, who were to play in Kindersley on Sunday, had a record of nine wins and one loss for 19 points and a four-point lead on the Dodsland Stars and the Unity Miners going into last weekend. Each team had played 10 games. The Tigers had eight points in nine games for fourth place.

The Redwings won the last of their regular-season home games, 11-1 over the Luseland Mallards 11-1 on Jan. 10.

The visitors had only 10 skaters to 16 for the home squad, although tiredness didn’t seem so much of a factor because the Redwings led 7-0 after the first period and 9-0 after the second.

Eric Robbie scored four goals and assisted on four others. Cam MacDonald scored twice and Kane Dubé, Tyler Moore, Jordan Johnston and Avery Ironside also got Redwing markers.

The Redwings outshot the Mallards 40-16.

Noah Martens had a shutout going till just over 15 minutes of the third period. Kyle Heintz picked up a loose puck by the right-side faceoff circle and beat Martens with a quick shot to the left side of the net.

Brody Thrun tended the Mallard goal.
