Older Angels

The day before the June 13 Rosetown sports day, officials of a Kindersley under-15 softball team called to cancel playing here that day. Rec director Kelli Emmons contacted women she’d coached, played with or knew played ball in order to put together a replacement team to play the Rosetown U-15 team. Teah Hill (L), Danielle Thiessen, Janine Lefebvre, Meagan Sparks, Michala Martinson, Lynden Paquette, Emmons, Meagan Craig, coaches Roxan Foursha, Nikki Deobald-Churchman and, in front, Bob Clothier, posed after the game, won 19-4 by the ad hoc “Older Angels” who didn’t give themselves a name. They hoped to possibly get together to play a Plenty ladies team still this summer, said Emmons.
