Front-street garbage pickup begins with early spring thaw

By Ian MacKay

The quick disappearance of snow, thanks to temperatures in the mid-teens last week, has led to the seasonal switch in garbage pickup.

The town switched to front-street garbage collection on Monday as part of the annual spring effort to keep heavy vehicles out of soft back alleys. It is scheduled to end on May 1.

“Please put your two bags in a garbage can at the end of your driveway,” says a message. “Please do not place your garbage bags on the street.”
