Dynamos vs. Wilkie in Senior B First Round

EAGLE STAFF

The senior Dinsmore Dynamos host the Wilkie Outlaws on Friday in the first game of their first-round Senior B provincial playoffs series.

The teams play in Wilkie on Friday, Feb. 6 and, if necessary, in Dinsmore on Sunday, Feb. 8.

At press time, the Outlaws led the six-team Sask West Hockey League with 13 wins and one loss.

Also at that time, the Dynamos were in fifth place in the Sask Valley Hockey League with two games left in the regular season and possibilities to move up in the standings.

The Dynamos, who defeated the Outlook Ice Hawks 5-3 in Dinsmore on Friday, had 32 points in 16 games.

Just ahead of them in the standings were the Loreburn 19ers and the Davidson Cyclones, both with 33 points in 15 games.

The Dynamos host the Cyclones on Wednesday and then play in Lucky Lake on Sunday.

Brayden Atkinson remains out of the Dynamos’ lineup due to a continuing knee problem, but apart from him, the team is healthy, said manager Kurt Jones.

Game details weren’t available for the Ice Hawks game, except that the Dynamos led 1-0 and 4-1 by periods.

“It’s going to get busy here pretty soon,” said Jones. “It’s that time of the year.”
