Angels climb above .500 with pair of wins
By David McIver
The Rosetown Angels moved above the .500 mark with a pair of victories in the Fertile Valley Baseball League last week.
The Angels won both four-inning games against the Kindersley Klippers on Tuesday, June 23. The first game, a makeup contest, ended in a 10-6 Rosetown victory before the Angels edged the Klippers 7-6 in the second game.
Rosetown was short several regular players because of other commitments but added Mike Sparks and Chris Redlich to fill out the lineup, player Rob Gregory said.
Markus Martens pitched the entire first game and the first two innings of the second. Jimmy Speir came on in relief to finish the nightcap, Gregory said.
The Angels hosted the Kindersley Raiders on Sunday and were scheduled to return to Kindersley tonight (Tuesday) for a doubleheader against the Cubs and the Stallions.
Rosetown wraps up its regular season next Tuesday when it hosts the Kerrobert Red Dogs.
