Kenneth Johnson
April 13, 1950 - February 2, 2026
It is with deep sadness that the family of Kenneth Wesley Johnson announces his passing on February 2, 2026, at the Royal University Hospital at the age of 75 years.
Born on April 13, 1950, in Delisle, Ken spent his life deeply rooted in his community, starting his schooling in Tessier and graduating from high school in Harris. After a time working for the Pioneer Grain Company, Ken stepped into a long-standing role in the community when he took over the local garage with his father in 1974. A familiar and reliable face to generations of local children, Ken also dedicated 49 years to driving the school bus.
Ken was a man of many passions, most notably his love for mechanical history and collectibles. He spent many cherished days attending car shows with Barry and visiting farm and train collectible shows with Gavin. Over the years, he meticulously built an extensive and impressive collection of die-cast vehicles.
Ken’s life was anchored by his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Brenda Johnson (née Dixon), whom he married on July 22, 1972. He leaves behind his sons Brad and Boomer; his grandchildren Gavin and MacKenna and their mother Alexis and his siblings Karen (Bill) Haffermehl, Don (Melody) Johnson and Laurie Johnson. He is also remembered by his brothers and sisters-in-law Dennis (Linda) Dixon, Linda Judd, Wayne (Pat) Dixon, Barry Dixon and Joanne (Kerry) Burton, along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends. Ken was predeceased by his parents Blondy and Vivian Johnson, his parents-in-law Ernie and Edie Dixon and his brothers-in-law Glenn Judd and Bill Dixon.
In accordance with Ken’s wishes, no funeral service will be held. For those so wishing, memorial donations may be made to the Tessier Cemetery or to a charity of your choice.
