Barbara Rollheiser
December 21, 1934 - February 12, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Barbara Rollheiser on February 12, 2026, with her two youngest sisters by her side.
Barbara, daughter of Katherine and Jacob Rollheiser, was born December 21, 1934, on the family farm near Denzil. Barbara was the seventh child of 13. She received her education at Palm School, a one-room rural school.
In 1956, she moved to Rosetown to work for the Sisters of St. Joseph Convent. In 1957, she was employed at the York Hotel, Rosetown. During her time in Rosetown, she joined St. Theresa's CWL and has been a member for 63 years. She belonged to the Rosetown Square Dance Club.
In 1967, Barbara moved to Saskatoon to work as a parish worker, which included many related duties. She worked in that capacity in different parishes throughout the Diocese of Saskatoon. After her retirement, she remained active with the CWL, serving on parish and Diocesan committees.
In 2009, she moved to Lutheran Care assisted living due to failing health, and in 2011, moved to St. Anne's Place, and in 2019 to St. Angela Merici Care Home.
Barbara's faith was first and foremost an active participant in daily Mass, prayer services, bible studies, and a graduate from the Lay Formation Program in 1993. A member of the church choirs in every parish she lived in. She was always available to assist with any need anyone had.
Barbara loved gardening and would have a large variety of flowers at every home she lived in. Her holiday travels took her to several places within Canada, the USA, Europe, and the most memorable was the trip to the Holy Land in 1994. She enjoyed participating in the activities of Bingo, cards, music, and exercises.
Due to further failing health, she moved to Rose Villa in 2023 to be close to her sisters. Here she met more new friends and caregivers, and was known for her pleasant smile. She enjoyed her last bingo game two weeks before her passing.
Barbara is survived by her younger sisters, Dorothy, Armella, and Imelda (Michael)
Zenkawich, sister-in-law Gertie, and Murial Rollheiser. She was predeceased by her parents, Katherine and Jacob Rollheiser, sisters Lena (Peter) Zeigler, Louise (Leo)Bertolo, Rose (Kelly) Dukes, brothers Benedict, Rudolph, Wendel, Anton (Bettyanne), Gregor, Wilfred, nieces Bernadette Walsh, Susan Bertolo, and nephew Dennis Zeigler.
A Prayer Vigil was held on Thursday, February 19, 2026, and a Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, February 20, 2026, at St. Theresa’s Parish in Rosetown, SK, with Fr. Habila Musa officiating.
