Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper

Richard Seibold checks the warming pan while Myrna Foster picks up the first pancakes of the Shrove Tuesday pancake supper at the St. Andrew’s - Trinity Anglican - Lutheran church hall. Lights had flickered some times and then went out in an apparently town-wide power outage around 4:25 p.m. that day, Feb. 17. Seibold then brought in a portable generator. The hall was running on candles and “Seibold Power,” not Sask. Power, when this picture was taken at 5:35 p.m. The regular electricity returned about five minutes later. That led to more people arriving. About 40 people, excluding supper workers, took in the annual meal before the start of the church season of Lent.
