Rosetown RCMP lay charges in assault, respond to plane crash near Canaan

ROSETOWN — Rosetown/Kyle RCMP responded to a range of complaints between April 30 and May 7, 2026, including an assault, a break and enter, an impaired driving stop and a small engine airplane crash.
On April 30 at 4:35 p.m., RCMP responded to an assault complaint in Rosetown. Charges have been laid and the matter is before the courts.
On May 1 at 11:56 a.m., RCMP received a fraud complaint in Rosetown in which a subject of complaint asked for fuel and money in exchange for jewelry. The investigation is ongoing. At 1:48 p.m., police received a gas and dash complaint in Rosetown, but there was insufficient evidence to proceed.
On May 2 at 10:35 a.m., RCMP assisted EMS in Lucky Lake.
On May 3, members responded to a suspicious vehicle complaint in Wiseton at 12:27 a.m. and a trespassing at night complaint in Wiseton at 12:36 a.m. At 6:46 a.m., police received a suspicious vehicle complaint near Forgan. At 2:31 p.m., RCMP received an erratic driving complaint on Highway 4 south of Rosetown, but were unable to locate the vehicle. At 9:56 p.m., police received a break and enter complaint in Lucky Lake. The investigation is ongoing.
On May 4 at 8:48 a.m., RCMP received a complaint of suspicious activity, possibly a break and enter to a coverall building in the RM of Harris. The investigation is ongoing. At 4:58 p.m., police received a complaint from a concerned citizen regarding the wellbeing of some children. RCMP have been in contact with Child and Family Services.
On May 6 at 7:57 p.m., RCMP assisted Saskatoon Police Service with a stolen vehicle complaint. At 9:33 p.m., members conducted a traffic stop in Rosetown. The driver was given an Alcohol Screening Device demand and, based on the results, issued a 60-day provincial driving suspension.
On May 7 at 12:30 p.m., RCMP received a gas and dash complaint in Rosetown. At 2:02 p.m., members responded to a priority call of a small engine airplane crash in the RM of Canaan. No further details were available at the time of submission.
Police issued 51 traffic-related charges and responded to three 911 mis-dial and false alarm calls during the reporting period.
