Remember When: Ridpath School opened in 1912
The Ridpath School was opened in 1912 with 14 students. This number ballooned to 30 in 1919. It closed in 1958 and served as a community centre for a number of years before it was bought by Mervin Legge and moved to his farm east of Rosetown, where it was converted into a workshop. The school was destroyed by a fire in 1981, but before that happened, Mr. Legge removed the ink stained, well worn hardwood floor, which became the floor of the Elk’s Hall.
