Remember When: Destruction of a grain elevator

Watching the destruction of a grain elevator tends to stir something in prairie folk. Some kind of emotion, whether it be sadness, nostalgia, or frustration, always rises to the surface. The effect it can have says a lot about how important these prairie sentinels once were (and, in many ways, still are) to the Saskatchewan identity. In this photo, the elevator at D’Arcy takes its final bow in the summer of 1998.
