Remember When: Aging Public Schools
During the late 1950s, the work began to replace the two aging public schools in Rosetown at the time: the Smith and Stewart Schools. The land on 9th Avenue was purchased for a total of $8,000 and a six-room brick school was built. This photo was taken during the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the school named after Senator Walter Aseltine. L-R: Dr. Giles, Senator Walter Aseltine, and Principal Nat Wychinski.
