Redwings cap perfect run with U-11 A provincial title

The under-11 Western Prairie Redwings won the Saskatchewan Female Hockey League U-11 A championship on March 13-14 in Estevan.
The Redwings edged the Weyburn DQ Blizzards 7-5 in the championship game on Sunday afternoon. Scoring details were not available.

They reached the final with a 5-1 semifinal win over the Kindersley-based Western Prairie Klippers earlier Sunday.
The Redwings went undefeated on the championship side. They defeated the Weyburn Atomic Gold Wings 7-2 on Saturday afternoon and the Western Prairie Mohawks 4-1 on Saturday morning in Estevan.
They opened the event with a 5-1 win over the Elrose-based Western Prairie Aces in Lampman on Friday.
The Redwings “played well from start to finish,” said head coach Jordan Johnston.
The championship roster includes Nova Barber, Emree Blumer, Nora Poletz, Charlotte Waite, Piper Schury, Madilyn Danychuk, Herschel Moore Jagow, Hanna Poletz, Andi Johnston, Rebecca Nunweiler, Brooklyn Moore, Andrea Nunweiler and Audrey Aylward. Coaches are Johnston, Aline Waite, Aleisha Moore and Jocelyn Poletz.
