RCMP respond to sudden death, cannabis investigation

ROSETOWN — Rosetown/Kyle RCMP responded to 10 calls for service between June 11 and 18, 2026, including a sudden death and an ongoing cannabis investigation.

On June 15 at 7:34 a.m., RCMP attended a sudden death in Lucky Lake under the Coroner's Act.

On June 16 at 4:32 p.m., RCMP opened a cannabis act investigation in Rosetown. The file remains active.

Earlier in the week, officers handled a suspicious vehicle complaint in Rosetown on June 11, a damaged abandoned vehicle near McGee on June 12 that was towed by Rosetown Towing, and a traffic complaint on Highway 7 near Zealandia the same day. Members intercepted the vehicle and no further investigation was required.

On June 13, RCMP received a mischief complaint in Rosetown. The complainant declined to proceed with charges.

June 14 saw officers assist EMS with a medical call in Rosetown and respond to a driving complaint on Highway 7 near Fiske. Members were unable to locate the vehicle.

On June 16, RCMP also received a complaint about an abandoned trailer near Zealandia.

Over the reporting period, officers issued 27 traffic-related charges and handled two 911 misdial calls and one false alarm.
