Minor hockey teams begin provincial playoffs

In the first round of the U-18 C playoffs, the Rosetown U-18 Redwings play the Tisdale Ramblers in Tisdale on Feb. 13 and here on Feb. 14, with — as in all minor provincial hockey series — if necessary, a mini game immediately following Game 2. Sixteen teams are in the U-18 C playoffs.
The U-18 D playoffs include the Kerrobert Rage taking on the Lanigan Pirates.
The U-15 Redwings play the Wynyard Monarchs in a U-15 provincial C first-round series, here on Saturday and in Wynyard on Feb. 6. Fourteen teams are in the U-15 C playoffs.
In the first round of the U-15 D playoffs, the Elrose Aces play the Avonlea Thunder in Avonlea on Feb. 1 and in Elrose on Feb. 5.
Another first-round U-15 D match-up has the Kerrobert-Dodsland Stars playing the Wadena Wildcats in Kerrobert on Feb. 1 and in Wadena on Feb. 6.
The Leader-Eatonia River Kings begin in the second round of the U-15 D playoffs, playing the Gull Lake Greyhounds in Gull Lake on Feb. 9 and in Eatonia on Feb. 11.
In their U-13 provincial C first-round series, the U-13 Redwings lost 23-0 to the Dundurn Wolfpack in Dundurn on Thursday. The teams play here on Friday. Twenty-four teams are in the U-13 C playoffs.
In the first game of their U-13 D first-round series, the Elrose Aces defeated the Dalmeny Sabres 11-5 in Dalmeny on Wednesday. The teams are to play in Elrose on Saturday. Sixteen teams are in the U-13 D playoffs.
