Milden community members enjoy busy start to June

By Milden Village Office

The Milden quilting group recently welcomed Judy McConnell to lead a class on making rope bowls. Thirteen participants took part, creating an impressive variety of bowls in different sizes, shapes and colours. Organizers said the project proved both fun and easy to make.

The Milden Community Museum and Milden Memorial Park committees joined forces for a plant and bake sale at the Milden Hall, along with a barbecue lunch at the park. Both events were reported to be very successful.

A special surprise awaited Holly Inverarity in Regina during the June 5-7 weekend. Her mother, Debbi Sparks, and sisters, Penny Dawe and Julie Sparks, travelled to Regina to celebrate with her as she received the Section Volunteer Coach Award at the annual Skate Saskatchewan meeting. Holly was unaware she was receiving the award and did not know her family would be attending the banquet.

Congratulations to Holly on the well-deserved recognition.
