People and teams from a distance competed in the last draw of the Rosebowl Spiel on March 28, but present or formerly local curlers prevailed in the three event finals. Each game went eight ends.
Former resident Cody Sutherland of Saskatoon, who still does work in Rosetown, skipped his familiar team to a 7-5 A-event win over Jesse St. John of Brock and his team of third Kurt Dixon, second Clint Walker and lead Tyler Ritchie.

Carl deConinck Smith of the D’Arcy area defeated the “Scott - Bro - Show” team of Saskatoon 5-4 in the B-event final. DeConinck Smith had Wayne Spiker at third, Dave Martens at second and Chris Siemens at lead in going against a frequent Rosebowl guest team from Saskatoon, that of second Kevin Scott, former Saskatoon Hilltops head coach; brother Terrence Scott at lead and another pair of brothers, third Dion Engele and skip Barry Engele.
Three local curlers and skip Dan Ormsby of Eston won 6-3 in the C-event final. Third Chris Nedjelski and lead Kendal Moore complemented second Bob Clothier, who registered the team, in their victory over another local foursome: skip Martin Tucker, third Jason Kidd, second Kyle Klimchuk and lead Keith Kappel.
Sutherland and third Dave Baum, second Jack Reid and lead Landon Field led 3-0 after two ends before St. John tied it up in the fourth end. Sutherland’s four points in the fifth end proved to be a turning point, although St. John again made it close.
DeConinck Smith got wins over Clothier and Robert Slocombe on his way to the B final. Complete results aren’t available for the Scott - Bro - Show, but they included wins over rinks of Kim Evans and Joe Spratt.
Tucker took the lead in early ends against Clothier, but they played the C final a little quicker than the other rinks did in their finals.
