Events and new reads at the Rosetown Library

There will be a fairytale-themed Storytime and Craft program at the library this Thursday, March 19, at 10:30 a.m. for children aged five and under. Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program. Please contact the library through our Facebook page or by calling 882-3566 during operating hours to register.

The library board also welcomes members of the public to join us for our Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, March 25, at 7 p.m. at the library.

Lake Effect by Cynthia D’Aprix Sweeney (adult fiction). In 1977, Nina Larkin is forced to acknowledge the lack of intimacy in her marriage. Just as her oldest child, Clara, is entering adulthood and finding her first love, Nina embarks on a fling with a neighbour that threatens the reputation of both families. Missing Sister by Joshilyn Jackson (thriller). Twin sisters Penny and Nix were inseparable until Nix dies in a tragic accident, leaving Penny a cryptic voicemail that still haunts her. Five years later, Penny has found purpose by becoming a police officer. Her first murder victim is Danny Bowery, one of the men Penny blames for Nix’s death. Penny becomes obsessed with catching the murderer and learning the truth.

Lady Tremaine by Rachel Hochhauser (historical fiction). After the deaths of two husbands, Lady Etheldreda Verity Isolde Tremaine Bramley finds herself alone with her two daughters, a standoffish stepdaughter and a crumbling estate. When a royal ball offers a chance to secure the future, Ethel fights to get her three daughters invitations. After the prince falls in love with the wrong daughter, Ethel discovers the royal family’s sordid secret. Now she must decide between her family’s security and the well-being of the stepdaughter who has never loved her.

I Came Back For You by Kate White (mystery). Ten years after her daughter Melanie was murdered, Bree is finally moving on with her life. Then a deathbed confession from the convicted killer throws Bree’s life into a tailspin. He readily confesses to murdering four girls, but not Melanie. As Bree begins to dig through Melanie’s past, what she discovers calls into question everything she has believed about the crime and about Melanie herself.

How to Write a Love Story by Catherine Walsh (romance). Ciara Sheridan’s father has left her with three things: a ramshackle estate on the Irish coast, the outline for the finale to his bestselling book series and writer’s block.
