Curling Correction

A statement in the Feb. 2 edition that the Rosetown Curling Club had “over $400,000” was inaccurate.

That figure reflects the club’s insured capital assets, equipment, investments and cash on hand, according to a letter from the club executive.

The club has $150,000 in long-term deposits, part of about $232,000 in available cash, and keeps about $50,000 in its chequing account.

It costs the club about $70,000 a year to remain operational while maintaining the rink and insuring equipment, the letter said.
