Chocolate ’n’ Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
2 cups whole barley flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup butter or margarine
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
1 1/3 cups chocolate chips
Preparation
In a medium bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt. In a large bowl, cream butter and gradually add sugars. Beat in vanilla, then beat in eggs. Gradually stir flour mixture into egg mixture. Stir in chocolate chips.
Drop by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 350 F (180 C) for nine to 11 minutes or until centres are set but still soft. Cool on baking sheets for two minutes, then remove to wire racks to cool completely.
Preparation time: 10 minutes; total time: 20 minutes.
Makes 36 servings, 133 calories each.
