Assault charges laid, cheque theft under investigation
ROSETOWN – Rosetown/Kyle RCMP responded to 18 incidents between June 18 and June 25, 2026, including an assault in the RM of Pleasant Valley that resulted in charges.
Officers also investigated the theft of tools from a Lucky Lake business on June 18, and a theft of cheques complaint in the RM of Lacadena on June 23. Both investigations remain ongoing.
A fraud investigation is underway in Rosetown following a complaint received June 24.
RCMP received four harassing communications complaints during the week, in Rosetown, Wiseton, and Elrose. The Wiseton complainant declined to proceed. The remaining complaints are ongoing or lacked sufficient evidence.
An oil tank fire near Elrose early June 21 prompted a response from the Elrose Fire Department, which established a perimeter around the tank. No injuries were reported. A truck fire was reported in Elrose on June 19, also without injuries.
Three erratic driving complaints were reported on Highway 7 near Tessier and Zealandia, and on Highway 4 north of Elrose. Officers were unable to locate the vehicles in two instances, and the neighboring detachment was notified in the third.
A mischief complaint involving youth banging on doors and windows at Rosetown residences in the early hours of June 25 remains under investigation.
Officers also responded to three wellbeing checks in Rosetown, an abandoned camper trailer along Highway 7 in Rosetown, and a failing-to-comply-with-a-release-order complaint in the RM of Lacadena.
There were 29 traffic-related charges issued during the week, along with five 911 misdial or false alarm calls.
