A letter of thanks from a long-time supporter
Dear Editor Winquist,
I write today to recognize the vitality of many residents and organizations in Rosetown.
Applause and appreciation are owed to every organizer, leader, coach and teacher who turn ideas into action every season.
In the past four years I was pleased to contribute financial gifts to several 'supporters of the social fabric' in your community. $57,000 from the Gay Hunt Fund helped support the Food Bank, medical services, the endoscope project, nursing home, and many youth-centered teams in curling, hockey, softball and other education and friendship gatherings.
Unique groups like the figure skating and gymnastics add to group skills. The Music Festival is magnificent in size and scope. Volunteers organize a week that matches those of a city. Wheels for Wheels received annual funds because it is such an important asset.
My aunt Gay Hunt spent her 92 years in the Rosetown area and was a resident in Rose Villa at the time of her death. I read with interest the history notes about the new Rosetown Composite High School opening, since I started my high school classes then, and recalled several of the helpful teachers from that time.
Sincerely,
Dale Elviss, 'class of '59' London, Ontario
